Jonathan Rosenthal
Jonathan Rosenthal is a neurologist based in New York City and a student of Sri Dharma Mittra.
Passionate about yoga and its impact on the brain, he created the Neuroscience and Yoga Online Conference in 2014 which grew to +5k annual participants over the last 10 years.
The conference's mission is to foster cooperation between yoga teachers and the scientific community, to involve practicioners in a scientific based approach of yoga and to share the latest research on yoga and its impact on mental health. Participants and speakers come from everywhere from India to the US.
During the Summer Camp, Jonathan will share the results of 10 years of investigation with the best experts Yoga x Neurosciences since the beginning of the conference at a theoretical level (the effects of yoga on the brain) as its practical impact (how to read a scientific abstract, how to finance research on yoga and mental health, how to study yoga therapy).

Alexia Michel
Alexia Michel is the founder of *Yoga et Peanut Butter* a Yoga method to prevent and deal with eating disorders and body image issues.
Since the age of 7yo, Alexia suffers from anorexia nervosa. She had been struggling for years and faced a few therapeutic failures when she discovered yoga, meditation and spirituality.
After 10 years of experience in marketing, Alexia decides to become a yoga teacher in 2018. In 2020 she creates her program “Yoga et Peanut Butter" to share with a wider crowd. Since January 2022, she also initiated a research project at the hospital Saint Vincent de Paul in Lille on Yoga and eating disorders.
During the Summer Camp, she will share her advice to adapt the practice to eating disorders, as well as share her entrepreneurial journey and her battle to start her research project at the public hospital.

Charlotte Multon
Charlotte Multon is the founder of Ecole Sadhana and a yoga teacher.
After studying at Sciences Po and three years supporting startups at The Family, Charlotte Multon left her Parisian life to study Yoga in India. She discovered a practical philosophy whose benefits she immediately felt for her physical and mental health. She trained in different techniques in India: ashtanga yoga in Mysore; hatha yoga and restorative yoga with his master Omprakash Gaur and mindfulness meditation at the Tushita Meditation center.
On her return to France she settled in Vexin to create Sadhana, a Yoga school for mental health: Yoga and stress, Yoga and attention, Yoga and self-image...
She surrounds herself with experts in psychology and neuroscience to explain the effects of the practice and make her students more autonomous.

Camille Teste
Camille Teste is an author and yoga teacher.
Her first book (“Politiser le bien-être”, Binge audios)
After studying at Sciences Po and in philosophy, Camille became a journalist, specializing in issues of social justice. Yoga helped her cope with an intense professional life. In 2019, she joined Charlotte Multon in India to further train in hatha yoga & restorative yoga (RYT-200h), with Omprakash Gaur.
Back in France, she explored yoga as a tool for body emancipation, and created the Circé retreats, feminist retreats intended to offer practices that liberate the body informed by the social sciences (history, sociology, etc.)
During the conference, she will deconstruct the myths around the practice of yoga (neuromyths, kinesiophobia, myths around femininity, etc.).

Amandine Mousset
Amandine Mousset is a yoga therapist.
After living for a long time in a painful body (late diagnosis of endometriosis), Amandine discovered yoga and its benefits on her mental health. Intrigued by this experience, she immersed herself in research on yoga and women's health, particularly pain management, perinatal depression and trauma linked to sexual violence. She now teaches yoga therapy in her practice in Paris, and at the Ville-Évrard Hospital as part of Camille Allene's clinical trial on complex trauma. She also led workshops in medical centers dedicated to women's health: IFEEN, Jeen and at the Maison des Femmes.
During the conference, she will speak in the context of yoga therapy practices and case studies on trauma and sexual violence.
Schedule of the week
In the morning, we start the day with a guided Ashtanga practice or a free Mysore practice.
After breakfast you discover the proven effects of yoga on mental health with Jonathan Rosenthal and our French experts: yoga and trauma, yoga and eating disorders, yoga and anxiety, yoga and attention, and yoga and empathy.
In the afternoon, we offer a case study and a practical course adapted to the mental health practice of the day and guided by experienced teachers.
At the end of the day you exchange good tips and advice with a community of informed teachers and practitioners.

THE VILLAGE
THE VILLAGE
We welcome you to the village of la Roche-Guyon.
The course takes place in La Roche-Guyon, just one hour and thirty minutes from Paris. The only commune in Ile-de-France distinguished by the association of the most beautiful villages in France, La Roche-Guyon is part of a vast natural amphitheater with steep reliefs and luminous slopes. The village is renowned for its troglodyte castle and its royal vegetable garden. At La Roche-Guyon you will find the best bakery in Vexin, Ahmed's grocery store, Pascal's flea market and a few restaurants (pizzeria, creperie). It is also an excellent entry point for exploring the Vexin region.



Your experience in La Roche-Guyon,
only one hour and thirty minutes from Paris.
You practice in the Shala of the house on stilts, with a view of the Seine.
You live with the other trainees in shared rooms (or stay in a nearby hotel).
A few seconds from the forest and a stone's throw from the Seine.

🛌 Accomodation
Rooms are shared with other students in dormitories or double rooms. Common areas - kitchen, bathroom, toilets - are shared with other students as well as outdoor spaces - garden, terrace. For those who would like private accommodations, there are hotels nearby.
🍲 Food
We offer you a full board meal plan. The dishes are prepared by Antoine Serre, seasoned yogi and owner of the house. All the cuisine is vegetarian, as local as possible and hearty. Example of Menu: carrot and cumin salad, braised fennel with goat's cheese curd, strawberry charlotte...For breakfast we offer seasonal fruits and chai, Indian tea with spices. For those with a sweet tooth, the village bakery offers pastries (the best in Vexin).
🕉 Community life
Community life is part of the retreat experience. To maintain order in the house, everyone is required to do 15 minutes of daily household chores: beds made in the morning, dishes after meals, sweeping between two practices... Some rules for working well together: cultivate kindness and non-judgment, respect the moments of silence. Let us also remember that any discriminatory behavior or comments are completely prohibited in our spaces.
⛪ Reservations
The course will be reserved upon payment of the course, i.e. 370 euros or a deposit of 160 euros. If you prefer to pay in two installments, the balance (110 euros) must be paid up to one month before the start of the course. Accommodation and meals must be paid on site in cash.
💩 Terms of cancelation
In the event of cancellation on your part, it is possible to transfer the stay to another date (up to one month before the course). No refund will be possible.

The house on pilotis
The house on stilts is located at the entrance to the village of La Roche-Guyon. Built in wood, the house is perched in lush greenery and overlooks the banks of the Seine. Entirely bay windowed, it has a practice space and a library with various influences - Indian philosophy, neuroscience manuals, yoga encyclopedia. At the heart of the house, the kitchen welcomes you for your meals and convivial moments. Under the house, a large wooden terrace for lunch in the shade and quiet study.

The rooms
You are accommodated in a shared room (2, 4 or 6 people) & have access to a large shared bathroom. Bedding is provided.

The kitchen
Antoine Serre is self-taught. Almost all the products in his kitchen are local - vegetables from the market gardeners, bread from the cooperative farm, fruits from his garden.
Karma Yoga : For those who like to cook, it is possible to get your hands dirty. During the week he will share with you Indian recipes revisited with Vexin products and the desire to cook simple, hearty and local.

The shala
Yoga practices take place in the large Shala of 80m2 and equipped with practice equipment - ropes, chairs, bolsters, blankets. In fine weather we also teach in the garden of the house.

To whom is this course addressed ?
Our course is aimed at yoga practitioners eager to learn about its impact on mental health, health professionals who want to integrate yoga into their practice, and yoga teachers who want to learn about the effects of yoga on mental health, integrate its knowledge into their teaching and get closer to healthcare (hospital environment, retirement home, etc.).
How to spend your free time in La Roche-Guyon ?
Some free time is planned, to allow you to study, rest or explore the surroundings (visit to the castle and its vegetable garden, hiking trails, kayaking, etc.).
Places
We are offering a reduced number of 20 places to be able to discuss with each of you and your prospects for development as a yoga teacher.
Should I have a scientific background to follow the course ?
No scientific background is required to participate in this internship. We will make sure to make the educational content suitable for everyone.
What level should you be in yoga?
No level is required. The proposed practices will be accessible to everyone.
Should I speak French to follow the course ?
Courses will be mostly led in English and live translated in French. Attendants are mostly French but some come from English speaking countries including our special guest Jonathan.
How to come to La Roche-Guyon ?
All you have to do is take a TER from Saint Lazare to Mantes la Jolie station (35 minutes) then a mini-bus will take you directly to La Roche-Guyon (30 minutes). Trains and buses are eligible for the Navigo Pass. More details on the route here.
